Service & repair

Keeping your bike running like it should

As with anything mechanical, regular servicing is what keeps a bike efficient, reliable and — more to the point — safe.

Two services

Pick the depth of work

Individual repairs can be added to either service — Service B plus a headset service, for example. Prices are for labour only unless stated, and are a guide: get in touch for a full quote.

Service A

£25Basic check-up

  • Full safety check: brake pads, braking surfaces, cables and controls, adjusted and worn items replaced
  • Bottom bracket and headset checked for play, with advice if worn
  • Chain checked, replaced if necessary, and lubricated
  • Gears indexed
  • Tyres checked for wear and damage, inflated to the recommended pressure
  • All nuts, bolts and fasteners torqued
  • Road test

Service B — standard

£45The annual service

Recommended for bikes that have not been serviced in a while, or as a yearly service. Everything in Service A, plus:

  • Frame washed and dried
  • Wheels removed to check hubs — bearings cleaned, lubricated, adjusted or replaced as necessary
  • Chain, cassette and crankset removed, cleaned and re-lubricated
  • Minor wheel run-out corrected
